The Social Innovation Ecosystem Builders – The Role of Intermediaries in East Asian Cities

The roles of governments, funders, and social innovators are often given much weight in social innovation. However, intermediaries also play an indispensable role in building the social innovation ecosystem. They connect cross-sectoral networks and consolidate inter-disciplinary professional knowledge. They build shared standards, common identities, and values with other key stakeholders. In this session, representatives of intermediaries from Seoul, Bangkok, and Hong Kong will share their work and discuss how they liaise with policymakers, funding bodies, social entrepreneurs, and corporate customers to impact the social innovation sector significantly.
