Johanna CHAN

Director of Ecosystem Innovation, Dream Impact, HK

A social entrepreneur from the age of 22, Ms Johanna Chan has been deeply involved in the corporate and social venture sector for over a decade. Her experience at Merrill Lynch and RetailNetGroup (Kantar) in Boston helped her build a strong foundation for working with a network of executives on strategic analysis and trend forecasting. Her work has resulted in numerous articles and webinars on Ethnic Retailing and Marketing to Ageing Population, which was presented to Fortune 500 companies in the United States.

Upon graduating from the top business school for entrepreneurship in the United States, Babson University, she studied Global Economy and Political Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science at Peking University. A serial entrepreneur by day and a yoga teacher by night, Johanna aspires to empower women and encourage a sustainable lifestyle, having started LOHAS in Hong Kong and JOYoga in Beijing. When she's not at the store making friends with customers or collaborating with local female entrepreneurs, you can find her teaching yoga or hiking on the MacLehose trail.

Her first flagship store under ethical fashion label RIL CREED opened in Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay in 2014. With age-old craftsmanship from a family-run workshop, she is building a circular economy by upcycling industry waste one bag at a time.

At Dream Impact, she currently leads the ESG Advisory team and Corporate Social Partnerships with listed companies in Pharmaceutical, Financial Services and Real Estate industries. She directly sources and implements social innovation and environmental impact solutions from grassroots to purpose-driven corporations.

Johanna conducts ESG training and consultations for a board of directors of listed companies in Hong Kong while providing strategy advisory and business matching support to a network of 103 social ventures. She works directly with the Co-Founder of Dream Impact, Dorothy Lam, on building a purposeful and inclusive workplace, proposing service models and setting financial targets during Dream Impact’s fifth year expansion journey.
