Himphen HUI

Mr Himphen Hui graduated from The Open University of Hong Kong with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He has been working with four other young and passionate team members to develop the Collaction platform. He is committed to exploring how technology can contribute to social advancement. He believes that information technology will prompt civic engagement and empower social projects especially those adopting a bottom-up approach. In the past 6 years, Collaction has initiated 11 projects, including Project Timber, which aims to crowdsource information about old and valuable trees in Hong Kong. Another recent project is Project Snappy: Hong Kong Street View Photo Database, which aims to promote the culture of crowdsourcing and encourage everyone to engage in the community in their own way.
