Philanthropy Advisor, Social Impact and Philanthropy Greater China, UBS AG

Ms Ellen Yip has over 13 years of experience in advising high-net-worth and Ultra-high-net worth Clients in philanthropy. She has joined UBS since 2018 and currently is the Philanthropy Advisor of UBS AG based in Hong Kong, covering the  Greater China market. She provides bespoke advisory services to Clients based on their philanthropic needs - from giving strategy and direction, philanthropic vehicles, governance framework, succession planning to program impact evaluation and monitoring.

Prior to joining UBS, she had worked in the Philanthropy Services team of another bank-affiliated trustee company in Hong Kong, helping Clients set up and run their charitable trust structures, from sourcing and vetting of philanthropic projects that meet the Client’s or their families’ values to monitoring of project progress. These projects cover education, elderly services, social enterprises and initiatives that targeted at addressing the social gap between the rich and the poor, in Hong Kong, China and some of the developing countries in Asia. She previously also worked in the Sustainability Department of a listed power company in Hong Kong and as the Administrative Officer of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.

She graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She also holds TEP qualification and is a member to the Society of Trust and Estate Administration
