Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director, AEC Group, HK

Mr Dennis Wu is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of AEC Group (Stock Code: 8320.HK) mainly focusing on Green and Healthy Buildings, Environmental Consultancy and Sustainability Advisory and Green Technology Solutions. He is also the Founder and CEO of AEC Capital Group focusing on sustainable finance, real estate, and green investment management.

Mr Wu has over 20 years of experience in finance industry. He worked in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services Department – Financial Institution Group of Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers in early 2000. Then, he worked for CITIC Capital Group with AUM over USD17 billion and 150 portfolio companies focusing on alternative asset management including private equity, real estate, mezzanine, venture capital, special situation, and marketable securities for 17 years since 2003. During his career in CITIC Capital, Mr Wu was appointed as Executive Director for Finance Department, Direct Investment Department, and Culture and Tourism Department respectively.

Currently, Mr Wu is the Founding President of Greater Bay Area Carbon Neutrality Association. He is also a Co-Chair of Green and Sustainable Private Equity Working Group under Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA), a Co-Chairman of Hong Kong Private Equity Finance Association (HKPEFA), a member of Environment and Sustainability Committee under Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), a co-opted member of Infrastructure Rating System Committee of Hong Kong Green Building Council and a member of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) committee of the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies (CHKLC). In addition, he is a member of Greater Bay Area Climate Investment Fund Working Group, Greater Bay Area Green Finance Standard Mutual Recognition Working Group and Greater Bay Area Green Finance Annual Report (2021-2022) Working Group under the HKGFA Greater Bay Area Green Finance Alliance, and an ordinary member of Business Environment Council Climate Change Business Forum Advisory Group.

Outside of Hong Kong, he contributes to the development of Net Zero Readiness Framework as a WorldGBC Asia Pacific Net Zero Collaborator. Mr Wu is the professional trainer on ESG and Sustainable Banking of Hong Kong Institution of Bankers (HKIB) and HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE). Also, he is the Admission Panel of the Incubation Program of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Admission Panel for City University – HKTech300 (11th Cohort).

Mr Wu completed courses on GRI Professional Certification Program, ISSB, TCFD, sustainable finance and digital transformation, in which he acquired the knowledge of sustainability and digital transformation. In addition, Mr Wu is a China Carbon Asset Manager with the training certificate of Carbon Asset Management issued by the Education and Training Centre of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China. He also earned a certificate for completing the Introductory and Implementation Course of Organizational Level Green House Gas Accounting and Verification – ISO 14064 issued by SGS Hong Kong Limited.
