Alan CHEUNG

Alan Cheung co-founded One Bite Design Studio (onebite) and One Bite Social, establishing the former in 2015 and growing it successfully to become the first B-Corp in Hong Kong's architectural industry. The latter is onebite’s community arm and he successfully registered it as a charity in 2023. As a registered architect with over 15 years of experience, he managed all technical aspects of onebite, focusing on enhancing public spaces and driving urban innovations through cutting-edge tools.

Alan earned several accolades for his designs, including the Urban Land Institute's 2019 Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence for his playground design at Kai Yip Estate, and Best Design of Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award 2022 for Siu Hei Court Play Space. He was part of the team which won the DFA Design for Asia Award 2021 for the GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Stores design.

He also ventured into exhibition curation, helming the 3-year Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival and Science in Art exhibition in 2022. Holding a Master's degree in Urban Analytics, he also leads a team of data strategists in onebite to explore the potential of incorporating big data in architecture and making urban data accessible via the platform URBAN MATTERS.

In addition to his leadership role in onebite, Alan also contributes actively to his professional community, serving as Co-Chairman for the Chinese University Architecture Alumni Association, Chairman of the Architects Regional Council Asia Committee in the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, and current Deputy Co-Chairman for its Board of External Affairs.
