Ko Ming-hui is the Service Supervisor of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Aged Care Complex. Believing that all senior citizens of different ages, qualifications, health and economic conditions have great life wisdom and are eager to learn and contribute continuously, Ko has been committed to promoting elderly participation in the development of age-friendly communities. Under guidance, the senior participants submitted a proposal to set up an aged-friendly hiking route and add hygiene facilities in the Duckling Hill of Tseung Kwan O. The proposal was awarded the Signature Project Scheme by the Sai Kung District Board in 2013. She also helps to see to providing magnifiers and other age-friendly facilities in the libraries.

Being the Master Trainer of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program, she encourages the elderly with various chronic diseases, such as stroke and early dementia, to form mutual help groups in order to regain dignity and confidence by actively engaging in activities that improve their own livelihood. In 2002, she was awarded the Outstanding Social Worker Award by the Hong Kong Social Workers Association. She attended the 13th Global Conference of the International Federation on Ageing in 2016 and the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit 2017 to share with attendees the age-friendly community development projects.
